KITCHENS
Inspiration
Our inspiration is the clean, modern “Cotswold” look that comes from the mellow stone, country living and the rural lifestyle of many of our clients.
In the last decade, our tastes and aspirations have changed more than in the previous thirty years. The availability of really interesting materials, the flexibility of modern design methods and the associated growth in artisan craftmanship has fuelled our hunger for neat, orderly homes. Design and life-style celebrities have picked up on those trends and the growth in designer kitchens is testament to the popularity of those finishes.
We have been lucky to focus our work in the Cotswold corridor for an established and loyal customer base. The houses vary in size and accommodation, but all sit well in the landscape and lend themselves to organic design and colours that echo the geography and textures of the surroundings. We like to bring the outside in, and make sure that the finishes are natural, hardwearing and smart.
WORK ETHIC INSPIRATION
The natural assumption about “bespoke” designs is that it is expensive, but like a well-fitting tailored suit that isn’t necessarily so. We use the best possible fittings, hinges and furniture so that the build just looks and feels right. There is an old maxim about paying for what you get, but much more than that we carry a saying attributed to Benjamin Franklin with us:
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
The way is which we achieve the best quality finish is constant attention to detail. You will find us on site much more than most teams, we check, double check and triple check everything. We can be accused of micro-managing, but the devil is in the detail and we need to ensure that the details are right.
SUPPLY CHAIN INSPIRATION
The development of the internet, means that we are sharing ideas, pictures and projects helps us to make sure that we have a wide variety of suppliers and products to suit every taste. We can source exciting and innovative designs from around the world bringing new and exciting products to your home.
When you are working in a design focussed business it isn’t surprising that that you are wholly dependent on your supply chain and partner organisations. We get a lot of our inspiration from working with progressive and exciting supply partners, craftsmen and even some of our competition. There is a real buzz about delivering a project that meets and exceeds the brief, that the client is really pleased with and that can act as a springboard to further work. We get inspiration from being the best that we can possible be.
